CYA and KYC Awards

Robert was awarded the Bill Burk Memorial Youth Elite Award for top male youth sailor at the annual CYA Rolex Awards. Article here.
Robert was also awarded the Achievement and Leadership Award at the Kingston Yacht Club Awards Night.

National Qualifying Regatta

The National Qualifying Regatta was held September 28-30 in Kingston. It was the second part of the qualification for the 2008 ISAF Youth World Championships, which are being held in Denmark. I finished 10th overall and was top youth, earning me the right to represent Canada again at next year's Youth Worlds. Results here. I have also moved up to 111th on the ISAF Laser rankings.

CORK

The CORK regatta was held in Kingston August 18-22. I finished 17th in the 114 boat fleet and was Top Youth. Gold fleet results here.

Laser Canadians

I finished 12th overall in the 57 boat Laser Canadian Championships held at Buffalo Canoe Club. Results and report. With my results in the spring and at the N.A.s and Canadians I jumped 90 spots on the ISAF Laser Ranking up to 164. I am sailing Gold Cup #3 this weekend in Sarnia. It is the last event before the Youth Worlds begin on July 12th.

Laser North Americans

I had a tough time at the North American Laser Championships and finished 37th overall. Results can be found here.

Gold Cup #2

This past weekend Robert won the 2nd Gold Cup event at Waterrats in Toronto. Only 2 races were held in light and variable conditions on Saturday, but more wind on Sunday allowed for 4 more races. Results can be found here (Excel file).

Gold Cup #1

I finished 4th at the TSCC Icebreaker Regatta on the weekend. Only one race was held in the light breeze on Saturday, but on Sunday the wind kicked in and I won the last two races of the event.

Lilac Festival Regatta

I finished 2nd in the Lilac Festival this past weekend, an ISAF Grade 3 event. Full results here. Next weekend I will compete in the Icebreaker at TSCC in Toronto, also a Grade 3 event and the first Ontario Gold Cup.
